| Art
has the power to elevate, to enlighten, and to celebrate.
Even beyond the audiences who enjoy the art, the greatest
insights, power and growth are for the participants who
join their talents and visions to create the work of art.
Turning the Wheel uses this power to foster communities,
build leaders, and teach the joy of self-expression to
thousands have never before explored these parts of themselves.
On every level, this work builds, strengthens and enriches
communities. |

to build a strong intergenerational dancing community

Facilitator
training sessions take place four times a year
in locations around the country, including a summer
residential training in the Colorado Rockies. By training
others in Turning the Wheel’s philosophy and model,
we expand our program’s impact exponentially.
Presentations to academic groups have
generated numerous requests for more in-depth training
and for a written manual. In the past year, Turning
the Wheel has worked with the University of Montana/Missoula,
Palo Alto College in San Antonio, TX and the Southern
States Communication Association conference in Tampa,
FL.
Developing a written Training Guide
in response to the demand, which has arisen through
the facilitator training and outreach in the academic
community. The Guide has been drafted and field tested,
and will be finalized by mid 2005. A working copy is
currently available.
